MacBook Network

My sister just got a new MacBook, and I wanted to hook it up via Ethernet over our router, and this is what I got when I clicked on her "Network" icon in the finder (btw, that should be the German word "Netzwerk", like it is on all our Macs), and this is what I got:

No way to access any other Macs, let alone PCs. Does anyone have any idea how to fix this? Is it a bug?

Did you setup the network in system preferences?

I don't really understand what you mean, but it used to work out of the box, which was like some 2 days ago. I'll go check the settings.
