Hello.

I am looking for some games to play on my new MacBook :D (non Pro) while on the train from and to work, either via OSX or Windows XP.

Thanks

Please be more specific as to your tastes and genre preferences. There are literally hundreds of great games we could recommend.

Sorry my bad, I was just suprised that games like HL2 was on the list, i did'nt think the macbook could pull it off, so I just assumed that only small simple games could run on the macbook. I tried Civ4 but when I started it up the fans came on like crazy and the macbook became hot and feared that it would melt  so I quit playing with it.

But mostly Im in to rts.

But thanks for the quick list Kwub.

Hey, I find CIV IV quite playable on my MacBook...

lol MacBook won't melt under maximum load. It was designed not to.

As for games, I assume you need those where mouse isn't needed? (Like driving)

Are there any good RPG's

by that i mean final fantasy, star ocean, xenosaga,

nothing like WoW or LOTR online, but more a big engaging story i can engage in myself, and maybe use a gamepad as well

I'm a big fan of Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds.
It's an RTS. Always seemed to me like Age of Empires 3 that they skinned with a Star Wars theme. :p
I play it comfortably on my 1.3GHz G4 iBook, so your Macbook would run it without breaking a sweat. Not sure if there's a UB build for it to run properly on Intel, but it might be worth a look.
It's not pretty, but I just can't stop playing it sometimes. hehe

You are right, something without a mouse, maybe I should give Age of Empires 3 a shoot.

Would it be best to play it on OSX or Windows as windows can give the gf card some more mem...

So the macbook can take it if the fans run on max for a hour or two?

if the computer is working, it will shut itself down if it had overheated. the fans are doing what its suppose to. dont worry about the fans lol

if its too hot, the cpu will throtle down as well

Japanese RPGs? No, essentially not. There are several incredible western RPGs, however, such as Knights of the Old Republic, as well as several of the other series I listed.
