My Macbook is now ready for shipping

I intentionally ordered it before the 26th because I want Tiger, then to buy the discounted Leopard in a month or so once I know it's working fine.

Apple replied really quickly saying that Leopard had been put on the order - I told them my situation, and that I'd feel more comfortable waiting for a bit.

I got an email back today saying that have given me BOTH operating systems at no extra price - and that the Macbook is ready for shipping :D

I'm really surprised at how good the customer service was - I'm so used to dealing with large companies and they just ignore you.

So I'm really looking forward to it comming, it should be next week I'd say.

Who else is going to wait a coupla weeks before installing Leopard just to be sure? :apple:

Congrats on your purchase. :)

I'm not going to wait to update because I just can't wait! However, your plan of action is very wise.

I suggest that when your macbook arrives, you do the following (after the basic registration and such):

1. Software update.
2. Download Coconut Battery and see what your battery's health is.
3. Calibrate your battery
4. Check your battery's health after the calibration is complete.

The only reason I say this is because another unfortunate member just realized (after 13 months!) that his battery's health had degraded quite rapidly. Stay on top of this and enjoy your new macbook.

I'm not installing Leopard till the httpmail plugin is updated to work with it (so I can use Hotmail in Mail). That's a dealbreaker for me.

I recieved another email last night saying that the Macbook has been packed up - and is ready for shipping.
I got emailed a confirmation this morning that it has been shipped, and I should have it by the 31'st of October :D

Cant wait! I should also have some vacuum tubes coming in around the same time for my amp - don't you love getting stuff in the mail :p
