quick question - is it alright to put my MacBook on top of my (old tube) TV while they are both on? I have no idea how electricity works so I thought I would ask first :p

edit: I mean just for short periods, like while watching a movie

Yea the only thing I would be worried about is heat.. will the mac be in use or will it be sleeping?

it would be connected to the TV with a mini DVI to video cable. Again, I would only do it when I was watching a movie or something, because the cable is short and there isn't really anywhere else to put the computer while it's hooked up to the TV.

you'll be just fine, as long as your laptop is on the flat part on top, and not covering the vent holes behind the tv.

make sure is secured, sometimes those surfaces are slippery and with little movenent it might fall to te ground

It should be fine. I'd be more worried about it accidently falling off or something.

so no problems with magnets or anything? I have a DVD player there too, but no VCR.
