Hello everyone. My friend has a macbook and the optical drive will not accept discs, meaning that every time that she tries to insert a disc, she has to push it in all the way into the slot load drive. After she pushes it in, a few seconds go by and the drive ejects it. What is going on? If you have an idea, what do you think it is going to cost? Thanks.

Bring it to apple. If it is a new MB with applecare it will cost you $0.00 dollars :) I know its a lot but you need a working superdrive.

Mine did this from new too, new logic board and new optical drive were required.

I just bought a MacBook on Craigs List yesterday, and the optical drive won't read DVDs. Luckily it's under warranty for 3 more years. I just took it in to the nearest Apple store today.
