Macbook outer casing

after really looking over my macbook casing really up close i noticed that the grey plastic around the lcd and the keyboard looked to be 'rushed' to be put together. there is a really minor gap on the bottom right side of the lcd and i am able to press down on the top right corner above the keyboard and it will move like it hasn't been glued completely. i have also noticed this on macbooks at the apple store and have seen some posted pictures from other users. to me it no big deal because its not severe like some users have come across.

has anyone else noticed this on their macbook after really taking a good look at it?


i don't mean to bash the macbook because i really love the machine being my first personal apple computer.

It is probably within tolerances, what do you expect for your $1000?

Macs are made in China today, and thank god for that. If not for the Chinese that same laptop would probably cost you $3000.

You're correct in that it's probably within tolerances. My MacBook's battery doesn't quite sit flush, but it's nothing AppleCare would see as a problem.

In the end, if you have an Apple Store close by and are concerned about your laptop, just bring it in and have them double-check it. That will at least give you some peace of mind.
