Hi guys,

I am very new to mac, just picked up a used macbook off someone from a forum.

Now there's a problem:
This macbook has a original admin password on it, and i am trying to format the machine. The person did not supply me with a recovery CD. I already contacted him, waiting for his reply.

In the worst case, what can i do? I have an image of the OS X 10.4.6 however it's not bootable, it's gave me a blank screen.

Any advice or suggestions?

Thanks!
Chris

You'll need OSX discs to either change the password or more sensibly, reformat and reinstall the OS. Can you borrow a disc from a friend with a MacBook, assuming the seller doesn't get you your discs promptly? The bundled OSX discs only work with the machine specifications they came with, so the seller shouldn't need to keep your OSX discs. :)
