MacBook performance/heat problem

Hi there,
I am new to Apple laptops, especially Intel ones, so dont know is this situation is normal or not. Here how it goes:
Got new MacBook white 2 ghz, with 2 GB RAM and 120 GB hard drive. In my room there is 31 degrees Celsius temperature. When I start my MacBook (from power cord) everything is super fast, awesome performance, but when after some minutes later it gets hot (CoreDuoTemp it says 72 C, when idle at 1.5 ghz) I experience very low performance. Processor tasks around 10%. Video gets sluggish, responsibility is very low. When I run iTunes visualizer it says 15 fps (when computer is fresh started (cool) its around 74 fps). The hottest computer is, the GUI gets slower. Low frame rates when watching movies, slow GUI, everything dramatically slow. But, when i move the computer to a coolest room (27 C) and wait some time, it gets cooler (CoreDuoTemp it says 58 C, when idle at 1.5 ghz) and run blazing fast again. So the conclusion is that when my mac gets hotter it also gets slower. Dont know if this is because computer is slowing because is dangerously hot and this is the way to prevent itself from overheat? It just feel like when its hot its not giving the full performance when its cool. The same situation is when computer run from battery. Is it possible that system is reducing performance because when it let the computer go faster it would just fire all up? What do you think folks?

Have you done a software update? The latest version of OS X (10.4.7) seems to make my MacBook Pro run MUCH cooler... (generally 10ºc cooler).

If that doesn't work, then I suggest you talk to Apple. Mine never did that, even though it's been stuck in my room which can get swelteringly hot at times.

Do you use it on a hard surface? Beds or carpet and laptops don't mix very well...

I find your iTunes visualizer really weird though. No matter what the temperature of my CPU is or where I am, I always get about 70-130fps in iTunes visualizer. I don't listen to any kind of slow music either, so that isnt the reason for my high frame rates.

Just out of curiosity, how do you see thef ramerate is iTunes visualizer? I have never used it before, but I just clicked the button on the bottm right that says 'full screen visualizer' and I don't see any framerate displayed.
