Hi,
I switched over from a Toshiba running Windows to a Macbook sometime last year, and I've been really pleased with it so far. Although now that I'm in my second year of University I find myself running back to Microsoft Office on Windows. Currently I'm using Microsoft Office 2004, its a great piece of software, but I find it to be slow when opening large documents and big powerpoint files. Also I have noticed that it has a certain typing "lag" and falls behind whenever I start to pick up some speed.
I'm seriously considering moving back to Windows XP due to Microsoft Office, as the Windows version seems a lot faster and more responsive. I purchased iWork 08 in the hopes of switching to a Mac alternative but somehow files don't show up with the proper formatting, resulting in me having to use a library computer running Windows XP.
My question is :
- If I install Windows XP, will I get the same battery life as I do with Tiger?
Being a student constantly switching from classes the battery life is very important to me
- Someone else I know that has Windows installed on there Macbook constantly complains of the Macbook getting very hot and loud fan noises. Has Apple fixed the issue?
I'm sorry if these questions have been asked before, but I understand that Mac users are far more patient than Windows users
