I've just installed Sonoma 14.6.1 and 14.7 on two MacBook Pro 11,3's and then installed Avid Media Composer on both. Media Composer does run properly on both of them however they both have an issue with Quicktime and the DNX Codecs. Avid automatically installs these codecs and there are no issues on my systems that run Sonoma natively. Here's the message that pops up when I try to open any DNX video file. I've even installed the DNX LE Codec pack from Avid and that didn't work either.

Any suggestions or work arounds would be very much appreciated.

Thanks

What happens if you click "continue"?

Does it then "open the file anyway" ??

If I click continue I only get audio, no video.
I could us VLC but it turns out there’s even more of an issue. Avid greys out most of these codecs and I’m unable to use them for AMA linking, Exporting or Capturing. If I try to AMA link these file it imports them instead of just linking them, which takes forever and essentially doubles the required storage.

What OS did you have running, when everything worked (previously)?

Have you thought of "going back" to that (on at least one of them, perhaps)?

Aside:
For those who work with audio and video, it's generally a good idea to "look before you leap".
In other words, before committing to a newer version of the OS, it's best to "do some experimenting" with it by installing it (and your apps/plugins/extensions) onto an EXTERNAL boot drive first -- simply to see if things will work as intended...

I had it running properly on Montery and I decided to play around with these laptops because both of these Laptops are just sitting around as spares so it's not the end of the world. I more or less sent this as an FYI for both users and developers. My next attempt is to go back to previous OS's until I find one that works with everything want to install.

I do have an M2 laptop that I don't mess around with also.

Thanks
