hey guys

MacBook Pro 13” mid 2012 won’t switch on or charge. The battery status bar on the side flashes to indicate no charge. I’ve tried disconnecting the battery. Supposedly it should turn on with power adapter connected even without battery connected? So even if it was a bad battery it should still switch on.

-I’ve tried different power adapters

-A few weeks back it wouldn’t charge until I moved it to a new outlet and disconnected and reconnected the power adapter a few times. From that point until now it had been fine.

Is this likely a logic board failure ? Or a dc in board failure?

Any replies or suggestions appreciated thanks

I’ve done this, assumed this would be a given when I had mentioned removal of battery. My mistake

No problem. Have you cleaned out the MagSafe port and checked the pins on the MagSafe adapter to see if they are all pushed out?

Could be a faulty MagSafe port, they are relatively easy to replace on this model if you are hands on with repairing and the part is quite cheap.

I have tried to clean it out which I also should have mentioned. Hopefully it is the dc in board as you’ve mentioned. Hopefully not a fried logic board! Taking it to apple next week for diagnosis. Thanks for your help
