hello guys. im having an issue with this macbook's camera. when i bought it in 2019 facetime worked normally. mid 2021 the camera stoped working, i tried everything software related like, check the apps permission to use the camera, some commands in terminal:
sudo killall VDCAssistant
sudo killall AppleCameraAssistant

Also, updated to Monterey MacOS version.

As nothing worked i believe it must be a hardware issue.

So the question is, as the warranty is already expired, is there a possible solution to fix the camera without changing the whole lcd/screen?

Videos of this macbook disassembly doesn't show speciffically how to change only the camera/camera cables.

Thanks im advance for any help.

Then the camera module is likely dead. As this is a 2017 model, go to an Apple Store and have it diagnosed. This will likely end up costing as an out of warranty repair.
no other workaround? I'll open the macbook if necessary. i can buy parts on ali. the problem is if i bring the mac to an assistence in brazil they will charge me the cost of a new one.

You could DIY it, but unless you are proficient and have the right tools, I would not suggest it.

I would suggest to have a complete understanding, make an appointment at Apple, go and have it looked at. Have them diagnose it and give you a quote. That way you will know for sure what is wrong. Diagnosing is free.

To replace the webcam requires a complete teardown of the display assembly. The ribbon cable is right against the lid of the display. Not worth the risk unless your display is already cracked.
