I'm at my last resort, this is driving me insane.
I used to love my Mac. I used to enjoy using my machine to browse the internet, to write on, to do my university work on, ignore the strange little errors my machine has seemingly had forever - but now it's instant. People look over my shoulder and think I'm tapping into an alternate universe, because this is really not normal behaviour. Flashes of green, purple glitches over icons before I hover over them, never regular but so frequent I've started to stop seeing them.
I thought that I was just being too harsh on the machine, it's pretty old after all, so I upgraded the RAM and installed an SSD to run the OS from - and, for a while, that sort-of worked - but recently it seems like it's going quickly downhill and I can't watch a car crash any longer. This is my own intervention for my mac, and I'm hoping someone can help me.
My Mac frequently shows graphic problems, often resulting in a full system break that requires me to reboot manually. Full glitch-effect on the screen. I've searched and searched for solutions but can't seem to find anything thats like mine. When I reboot, sometimes it's fine but regularly it needs to sit for a bit, then reset again, and then I might be ok.
Some clues I've found are that using Chrome and Safari at the same time? too risky. I can't add an image in Pages, but writing text is fine and even using specifically Twitter on Safari can trigger a full crash.
I attached a picture of one I could capture, as well as my system info from 'about this mac' - hopefully this gives some clues of what the route of the problem if, and if not - I'm more than eager to find out what I can do. My studies (and my sanity) seriously depend on it.
