2.9 GHz 8Gb Ram 500 ssd macOS 10.13.6 Sierra
Recently when I startup I get Adobe and other programs automatically appear onscreen.
In the past it started normally, I chose the programs.
Can I stop this please?

When you Restart or Shut Down there is a window displayed. Make sure "Reopen windows when logging back in" is NOT checked.

You are welcome.
Asking questions on the MacRumors forum can help to answer questions and reading forum posts. I can't think of a particular site to go to learn about using a Mac , but I did a search so here is the result:

If you are referring to mouse scroll direction, the you can change the direction in:
System Preferences>Mouse>check or uncheck Scroll Direction

However when I changed the mouse scroll direction I lost half the letters on my keyboard?
Also is it normal to delete something...... you go after the letter not before it then press delete?
