Hello, I own my 14 inch Mac book pro now since a month or so. I am actually really pleased with it. The only thing wich is bothering me right now ist that the battery doesn't have the efficiency that everybody is claiming. I am now wondering if it is just my Mac book. On my Mac I loose 1% of battery in 3 minutes wich gives me 5 hours. And I have to add that this is just by browsing and not doing something intense.

Could somebody give see feedback on this issue or is this just normal?

How bright do you have the screen?
I like mine bright, but it does hammer the battery.
Try it at 50% brightness. If that is what you are doing already, then seems short

I have my brightness at 15%. I must add that i have 16gb of ram and the biggest m1PRO chip. But 4-5 hours battery with light use seems a bit short.

Unless you have M1 Max chip, that should not be a significant factor.
Yes, seems short battery life for just browsing at 15% brightness. I would expect at least 8 hrs.
I suggest monitor activity monitor CPU and Energy tabs: some sites/browsers suck resources.
The Energy tab will indicate what apps are using battery the most.

In the Activity Monitor you might find a "memory leak," a process that's using a huge amount of memory and other resources. Common issue with these under the new OS.

You might also check to see if some of the programs you have open are Intel instead of Apple (under CPU in Activity Monitor).

Between today and yesterday my screen on time is about 7 hours and I have a bout 45% battery remaining. Most of that was watching some youtube video's, netflix and web browsing. The first 1-2 hours I was sat near a large window to my brightness was higher than normal. I usually keep my brightness @ 50% with auto brightness. I would estimate about 14hrs of web surfing/light use.

With light web browsing on my M1 pro 14” brightness on auto around 50% I get about 10 hours using safari, usually 5-10 tabs plus twitter plus email open, apple music playing to my headphones via bt

Unless you are running something consuming 100% CPU and/or GPU cores then at 15% brightness you should be getting 10-14 hours.

Granted I keep Low Power Mode on when on battery, but at 50% brightness and using Safari (14", 16 GB RAM, 8-core M1 Pro) I would get an estimated 12 hours of use.
