I see the entry-level 14-inch M3 MacBook Pro has a 70 watt-hour battery while the M3 Pro version has a 72.4 Wh battery.

Meanwhile the old M2 Pro MacBook Pro had a 70 Wh battery – presumably the same as the current M3 (non-Pro) MacBook Pro.

So it looks like the 72.4 Wh battery is new for this generation.

What is known about this new battery? Are there improvements beyond the negligible capacity increase? Who makes the cells? For that matter, who made the cells for the 70 Wh battery?

Thanks.

Apple has a variety of manufacturers, and I doubt it's more than a slight capacity increase. Usually when they do that it's because they want to make sure the battery life stays at their projected level.
