MacBook Pro 14” m2 quiet

My MacBook 14” m2 volume level when playing music via the app, is barely noticeable. I’ve done all the sound checks etc and all the suggestions in the Google search but no change.
Additionally, when I play music, via Bluetooth, from this machine to AirPods Pro it is absolutely awful totally too loud and distorted. AirPods play beautifully via my iPhone.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

The Music app has its own volume slider. Make sure that it's not all the way down.

OMG xraydoc how could that be? I totally assumed the music app and the MacBook’s app volume controls might communicate with each other.
