Hi,
I have the MBP 14" and I'm wondering if I can use the Lenovo Thinkpad USB-C gen2 dock to it?
Why I'm wondering is because the dock can charge up to 60w trough the USB-C cable but I still want to use my MagSafe charger as well I don't know really why but it do feel like the 96w will give it some extra power / performance?

Did read something about 3rd party docks can harm the MBP or is that just rumours?

Side Q: what happens if I have both USB-C charger and magsafe plugged in at the same time?

All docks are third party. The Lenovo dock is certainly likely to be better than a no-name Amazon dock.
Your computer won’t run faster with a higher wattage power source.

Ok, so I can just use the dock then without MagSafe that’s even better :)

I have the same doc but am waiting for my Macbook Pro. Please let us know how well it works. I'm especially interested in dual monitor support. If you're not dual monitor I understand.

Thanks!

I read somewhere it will NOT charge from two sources at the same time but don't know how it prioritizes one over the other

I have dual monitors I’ll hook it up with display ports.

But I’m not back at the office until Monday but I’ll report back then

Did both of your external displays work from the get go in extended mode? I can't seem to get mine to work... they just mirror each other.
You need to update the firmware on the dock, it’s a bug in the old firmware

I updated the firmware but didn't seem to fix it... so I ended up swapping my docks so I use my USB-C dock with a single monitor, and my Lenovo TB4 dock with the dual monitors (and using the 'hack' of a USB C to HDMI trick to make it work since the HDMI port was just mirroring as well).

On a related note, do you have any issues waking your Macbook Pro from sleep by pressing on the KB/M connected to a dock? I'm not sure if it's the Ventura beta or something else causing my Macbook Pro to basically not work in clamshell mode.
