Hej evrione
I am doing a new post here since my posts are getting removed on apple discussions for some reason.
A few months back I did open my macbook and applied a better (corsair) thermal paste and the fans started going wild afterwards. I got told the amount i applied on it was too much so I reopened my macbook yesterday to clean up the thermal paste and then gently put in some little paste again (see picture).
After booting up after the 2nd thermal paste upgrade the fans still went very loud and my mac was very slow when opening applications and shut down right after it booted up. After doing a PRAM reset two times and tried the SMC reset several times the problem is still there.
My macbook is not usable anymore because it keeps shutting down by itself.
Will upload two pictures, when I opened it yesterday I saw thermal paste had leaked outside the heatsink and the2nd picture will show the amount i applied yesterday too.
Please help!

Small pea size is the general guide. Also make sure all the cables were reconnected properly.

Lastly make sure you've cleaned the fans/blades

The give the whole chassis a clean by blowing/wiping away dust

Is the battery detected by the OS or the onboard diagnostics?

Is it possible one of the temperature sensors was damaged during the initial installation of new paste?

Was the MacBook ever exposed to moisture?

this is funny. Im so dumb ;))
First time i tried putting new thermal paste i put a lot and it leaked outside the heatsink therefore the fans went nuts.
Second time (yesterday) i did put very carefully thermal paste but i screw in the two metal things (i think they are called hinges) that hold the heatsink very tight which youre supposed to screw them after the heatsink is placed onto the cpu but bc im so dumb i screw those metal pieces BEFORE i even put the heatsink into the motherboard, if that makes sense anymore (see picture for details). thats why all of this happened.

Today, i did all of this again (no dumbness included) and I could barely hear the fans running! lmao.. its funny i had my mac running like this with the fans since november last year hehe!

Thank you all for help though.

Regards!

That's actually gone by the wayside to a degree, especially as die sizes of Intel and AMD CPUs have grown larger. Now you will see advice for all sorts of methods, from the aforementioned pea size approach to an x shape, 1 or 3 parallel lines, or even the "buttered toast" approach.

Just a thin straght line would do the job. Dont mess with the screwing step as I did otherwise your macbook wont run at all as mine did hehe ;))
I think x shape would be a lot on a macbook pro mid 2015.

yes i did those in november and it was worth it as there was much dust when i opened up them.
When I do the cleaning I do it outdoors so all the dust fly away from the indoors.

It feels like new again.

You should be receiving your final Software Update by now with 2 more years of Security Updates to go.

You can bump up the soldered RAM & SSD if you can find someone who can unsolder them and solder higher capacity ones.

Sounds smart. Luckily Macbook Pro Mid 2015 has no soldered SSD (its the lastest one before apple silicon was introduced).
