Macbook Pro 15 2017 Intel HD Graphics 630 1536 MB - Can this support the LG 49 inch ultrawide monitor?

In the market for an ultrawide monitor. Im currently looking at the LG and Samsung. Im concerned about the LG that my MBP would not support that resolution but if not would the SAMSUNG be ok? have any one of you have the MBP 2017 with an ultrawide monitor? What should be the best UW monitor to get with my 2017 MBP with an Intel HD graphics card? Thanks

For Intel graphics prior to 10th Generation CPU:

• 3840x1080 should not be a problem.
• 5120x1440 might work in macOS 11 Big Sur but not in 10.15 Catalina or earlier.

All 15” 2017 Macbook Pros also include a dGPU in addition to the integrated Intel graphics.
Your model should also have either a Radeon Pro 555 or Radeon Pro 560.

Somehow I missed the 15" part in the thread title. Yes, the 15 inch models have a dGPU that can do 5120 with a single DisplayPort connection. The iGPU in those models can only power the internal display when no external displays are connected so it's not a consideration for external displays.

A model with an iGPU can do all those displays you listed but only half as many. The difference between the 5120x2880 display and a 5120x1440 display is that 5120x2880 uses two 2560x2880 signals (displays like the LG UltraFine 5K) which an iGPU can do, while the 5120x1440 uses a single signal which an iGPU can't do (unless you're running Windows or maybe Big Sur).

So yes it will output the full res of the LG 49 inch of 5120 x 1440... Thanks guys. I didnt notice that I have a Radeon Pro 555.
