Anyone running a similar laptop to this?

I've maxed the RAM, changed the hard drive and replaced the battery.

Still works well but I plug in an external drive every few days to back up.

For the most part this laptop works great, but has issues w/ some programs like google sheets and whatnot.

Would you trade for a MBAir?

My biggest concern is that I won't get 13+ years out of a new machine b/c they are all self contained.

Thoughts? Thank you....

Well you’ll have to think carefully about how much RAM and storage you’ll need when you purchase it. Batteries are harder to replace but its not impossible. Other components have never been easy or cheap to replace, you already had to have some luck to make it 13+ years.

Apple marks a product obsolete 7 years after discontinuation so theoretically you could still get a lot of years.
