Hi all,

I'm in the process of replacing my MacBook Pro 15-inch 2018 battery and would love your input. Any trusted battery brands you'd recommend?

If you've already replaced yours, could you share how long the new battery lasted or if it extended your MacBook's lifespan?

Appreciate your insights, thanks!

3rd party batteries are a crapshoot.
Like Forrest Gump and his box of chocolates: "you never know what you're going to get".
And doing the job yourself entails some risk.

Of course, there's the genuine Apple-labeled battery.
But the only way you get one is to have Apple do the replacement.
The cost is $249.
BUT... they won't offer it at this price UNLESS the factory capacity has dropped to below 80%.

What is your existing battery's capacity right now?
(use Coconut battery to check)

Hi,

Thank you for your response, it was very helpful!

I was thinking of getting a battery maybe from iFixit... Anyway, I have attached a screenshot of coconut battery stats, let me know your thoughts!

Thanks once again! 😁👍

Looking at the stats above, you can either get a 3rd party replacement (I've read here that users have had mixed experiences with the ifixit batteries), or have Apple do it.

If it was me (and I realize you ARE NOT "me"), I'd pay the $249 and have Apple do it.
For that you get:
- an Apple-labeled factory OEM battery
- replacement done for you
- a short warranty.
