Is there a small difference between the 2021 MacBook Pro 16" and the 2023 model?

I bought the 2021 version and the keyboard is absolutely horrible. So, is the 2023 version better or are the keyboards exact the same?

The keyboard on my 2021 MacBook Pro 16 is very good, so initially I find it difficult to understand your post, because you don´t give any reasons why you find the keyboard "absolutely horrible".

The keyboard is very loud and typing on it is very uncomfortable. When you type, you feel mechanical vibrations all over the surface.

I have never typed on such a bad keyboard. I sent the Macbook back today and will go to the Apple store to look at the 2023 Macbook 16". I really hope it has a much improved keyboard and I'm happy to spend more money on it.

I have the MBP 16 2021 and MBA 15 2023, and the typing experience on the MBA is better. The MBA has a softer feel and the keys are slightly easier to press. The MBP keys are stiffer.

But I wouldn't say the MBP was uncomfortable by any means. I used it just fine until I was able to compare it to the MBA.

Currently I own a Macbook Air 13" 2020 and the keyboard is much softer and it's much more comfortable to type.

I'm going to compare MBP 2021/16", MBP
2023/16" and MBA 15" keyboards on monday.

I had a MBP M1 16" and now have a MBP M2 16". The keyboard on both felt exactly the same. The i personally don't like the keyboard but I dont think mine have been as bad as what you're describing.

Differences between a 2021 16-inch MacBook Pro's keyboard and a 2023 16-inch MacBook Pro's keyboard will be minimal at most. Apple does change some things internally from rev to rev (within the context of a single design generation), but they're usually minor, especially when going from Rev A and Rev B.

I own a 2021 M1 Pro MacBook Pro 16 and I've always liked the keyboard - it's one of the better laptop keyboards. My 2015 keyboard was mushy which I didn't like as much. I am used to mechanical keyboards that are loud, clicky, and require a lot of force to type. The 2021 MacBook Pro keys are clicky but they soften with use.

I tried the 2023 MacBooks (all of them) and didn't notice any difference with the MacBook Pro other than the keys being a little stiffer because mine is 18 months old.
