I have been trying to play Division 2 on a 2019 16" Macbook Pro (i9, 32gb ram, AMD 5500) running Bootamp / Windows 10. I am also running an external 4k display at 60hz, which SHOULD be fine... but the performance is abysmal. The performance is better when i use the regular laptop display, although not great -- i still need to run the graphics on Medium (settings are low, med, high, ultra).

Am i just trying to do to much from the laptop? Given what a powerhouse i9 the macbook pro is supposed to be, it seems like running a game on an external display should be fine?

Any suggestions?

Humm.... are you running the game at full 4K resolution?
If yes, you might want to turn in down to 1080p. Here are the requirements for Division 2.

Nvidia Geforce GTX 1070 is substantially a better GPU, when compared against the AMD Radeon Pro 5500m.

high settings 1920x1080

GeForce GTX 1070 (Desktop):97 fps
Radeon Pro 5500M:56 fps

ultra settings 1920x1080

GeForce GTX 1070 (Desktop):77 fps
Radeon Pro 5500M:39 fps

Minimum PC requirements (1080p 30fps):
OS: Windows 7-10 64-bit
Processor: Intel Core i5-2500K / AMD FX-6350
RAM: 8GB
Graphics: Nvidia GeForce 670 / AMD Radeon R9 270
Video memory: 2GB
Recommended PC requirements (1080p 60fps):
OS: Windows 10 64-bit
Processor: Intel Core i7-4790 / AMD Ryzen 5 1500X
RAM: 8GB
Graphics: Nvidia GeForce 970 / AMD Radeon RX 480
Video memory: 4GB
Recommended PC requirements (1440p 60fps):
OS: Windows 10 64-bit
Processor: Intel Core i7-6700K / AMD Ryzen 7 1700
RAM: 16GB
Graphics: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 / AMD Radeon RX Vega 56
Video memory: 8GB
Recommended PC requirements (4K 60fps):
OS: Windows 10 64-bit
Processor: Intel Core i7-8700K / AMD Ryzen 7 2700X
RAM: 16GB
Graphics: Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 Ti / AMD Radeon 7
Video memory: 11GB

Thanks. That was it. Once i dropped the resolution things were better. I was trying to get too much out of the card.

Thanks!
