Hey,
ever since I got my new MacBook (around December 2019) I have been experiencing pixel glitches, that always occurred on the frame. I have tried turning True Tone on and off. Also, I remember finding a thread about it at the end of last year (which I can't find anymore) were people were saying that it is a known bug and will be fixed soon. Now, half a year later I still have the issue (check screenshot for example. And yes, I am not kidding, you can capture the glitch in a screenshot.) Also as extra information I haven't noticed any patterns as of in which region or programs it occurs (seems like in all programs). The colours of the pixel glitches also change. I wonder why I can't find any info on the internet about it, because I think that for a bug of this magnitude there would be more people complaining. Does everyone have it? Can It be fixed?
Thanks a lot :)

There is a dark purple pixel region in the top of the preview window, it is hard to notice at first but it gets annoying over time

Oh. I see that now. It must be caused by software. Does it appear in all window title bars? Does it do it if you change the desktop background?

Thats what I thought too, that's why I didn't directly go to the apple store. I don't think there's a connection to the wallpaper, I have changed it often and never noticed anything. However, it doesn't directly happen to every window every time, more like 15 times a day without any visible pattern. And yeah it can happen in all window title bars, even in finder or third party software. Whenever I move the affected window it disappears.

Do you know why the issue isn't more popular @bracholder ? I would have thought that a lot of people would complain about it when buying a laptop for 4000$.

Also, do you guys think its worth going to the apple store to document the bug? I don't want the guarantee to run out and have the issue forever.

i would have thought so too, maybe this specific glitch is too small of an issue to even be noticed by most users.
i for one am very concerned and frustrated by so many bugs and quality issues (mostly software) that should be ironed out by apple, considering the premium their users are willing to pay...

sometimes i wonder if the people who create these products are even using their own stuff and if so, how they can live with those problems.
i would work tirelessly until i got it all sorted out. ;)

i used to report a lot of bugs to apple over the last years, but never saw one of them be resolved in any update, so i gave up by now, just a waste of time. 😔

Hmm, I feel you. As a software developer it is a mystery to me why they wouldn't fix such an issue, especially in over 6 months.

yeah, i imagine all the bug reports piling up somewhere at cupertino with 5-10 devs having to handle them all while obeying some kind of regulatory that states "thou shalt not start fixing issues until more than 10.000 complaints are registered" 🙄
