Hello everyone,

I have the latest mac book pro 16 pro - 32 gb. I use it as a desktop always plugged in to my Pro Display (act as a charger).

My battery is always shown to be charged at 100% - confirmed with third party software. It has been like this since i bought it. Is there anything i could do to make sure the mac charge at 80/90% max like i guess the system should do, for some reason it's not working.

Should i use Aidente ?

Thanks

Yes use Aldente - My MacBook is also always plugged into some form of power. I use Aldente to keep it at 75% all the time.
In fact, it's so good I ended up buying the Pro version and use it for the odd calibration every so often as well.

Much recommended!

Thx, do you have any idea why the integrated BMS is not working ? Is it because i charge the mac with the Pro XDR Display cable ?

BMS is not consistent, it is AI based, same happens in iOS, for macOS, alDente is a great alternative, for my iPhone, I have an Automation that turn off the power when at 80% charge, I no longer use BMS

Today I obtained the same problem!

Furfing, did you find what happens? Any solution?

I do not want to use aldente, and I do not really know what is the real percentage of battery.
I dont think that it charges! So it seems that 100 is real!
Why?
I have mbp connected to apc ups with lcd screen.
It does not display any load at all, when it supposed to charge mbp.

I do not know what happens.
Please help!

I don't trust any of the "software solutions" to battery maintenance.
Not Apple's or AlDente, either.

The best way to "exercise" a battery is to take the computer "off charge" (DISCONNECT IT from power) at least once or twice a week.

Then, let it run down to about 40-45% of the battery.

Then, plug it back in.
