Which one would you get? I read somewhere the 2.3 is better then the 2.4 sometimes. I this true?
  • 32 GB 2666 MHz DDR4 (On‑Board)
  • 1 TB SSD
  • Radeon Pro 5500M, 8 GB GDDR6
Not sure on the Processor though..

The 2.3 is the better buy, because the performance improvements are marginal and not worth $200 more.

Which one I would get, or one that I would recommend you should?

I would get the 2.3, simply because of my needs are such that paying for the higher cpu would be a waste of money. Since you don't detail how you'll use the computer, I have no idea which configuration makes the most sense.

I went for the same specs you list above, and the 2.3GHz i9.
The extra cost just didn't justify the marginal increase in CPU for my uses, although as mentioned above, this is dependant upon how you intend to use the machine…..

My use case is very similar to yours (include Matlab/numpy/scipy) and I got the 2.4. Runs pretty great
