Hi!

I'm planning on getting a MacBook Pro 17" for school in August, and wanted to do regular backups. I'm new to Macs and have never had one before, the only time i've been on one was in the mac store (liked it!!! :) )

Anyway, i know it can be done by PC's, but is it possible to install the backup software that Tiger uses, (or any other decent backup software) and automate it to backup your whole system to my file server over the network?
I know that is possible, but can the MacBook Pro start it's self up, say at 2 am every monday and backup itself. So i don't have to keepbacking it up manually or switching it on to backup.

I want to do a kind of "Norton Ghost" sytle thing, i.e. an image stored on my file server, so if things go wrong i can send the image back and everything will be fine as it was.

I am being unrealistic??? I've got the same thing going on with my PC's, my router sends a Wake on Lan signal to each PC, they in turn start the backup software when scheuled, and they all backup!

Does the MBP have WOL? (Wake on Lan) and can the WOL be done through wireless???

Thanks in Advance!

Dan :)
