hey, i’m wondering is it possible if i can put a 2010/2011 macbook pro 17 inch logic board into a 2009 chassis?

Kind of. Physically it will fit, and the ports will line up, and the display cable will plug in and work, but I'm not sure on the rest of the cables. I have done it before, and from memory the only problem was the wifi/camera/light sensor cable, but it was probably about a year ago so my memory might be wrong on it. Somebody else may be more up to date with details.

From memory it uses a different connector. It's been a while since I've worked on a 17" though. The camera/wifi connector is different between the 09-10 and the 2011 13" and 15". In 09-10 the wifi board was housed inside the clutch cover of the screen, in 2011 they moved it and integrated it with the speaker mount. The 15" battery connector had its + and - leads swapped between 2010 and 2011, and they also moved the keyboard connector over a little.

2010 should be fine. 2011s had faulty gpus, so 2010 would be a better option anyway.
