MacBook Pro 17" - Warping? Bad Craftsmanship? What?

So I've started to notice that it appears like the metal is slightly (milimeters) coming away from the plastic above the cd slot.

Any ideas?

Yeah, the plastic is part of the top case and one of your snaps from the top to the bottom isn't secure. You can try pressing down on it (while it is off) to see if you can seat it, if not, bring it to a repair center so that they can readjust it for you. It won't hurt anything, but its nice to have it all together and pretty and everything.

thanks for the reply, ill bring it in when i get back home... i was scared for a minute... not that im afraid it will cause damage but i was afraid i wouldn't be able to do any of my work because i keep looking at it and its destracting lol.

It is the reason why I don't buy rev A macs i don't care how good, and cool they look I'll suggest you call apple and tell them what is going on.
