Gday all!,

I currently have a 15" Macbook Pro i7 2.0 Early 2011 model and it currently has 2 x 2gb PC3-10600 DDR3 Ram and I was wondering if 2 x 4gb PC3-12800S Ram would work in its place?

Cheers!

Your Mac has a i7-2635QM processor. According to Intel supports up to 16GB PC3-10600 RAM. You can install PC3-12800S RAM, but it'll probably run at the slower speed. It should work fine though.

I jsut upgraded my Early-2011 15" to 16 Gb for under $60 and it's working great. I'd definitely recommend it, especially if you only have 4 Gb currently.
