Hi!,

I have an issue with my keyboard, some of the keys ( F, R, V, Control etc) were not working. Some of them worked but not correctly. For example, when I typed R, then it showed something like QWERRTT. I could not restart the NVPRAM or SMC because it required Command+R or Control+Opt+Command and the Control bottom did not work.

I replaced the keyboard today with a new one and now different keys are not working ( different from the ones before) now keys ( T,G,B, enter ) are not working while the rest of the keys work. What could be the issue? I thought that it was a hardware issue that's why I replaced the keyboard.

I also tried an external keyboard and it works perfectly.

What can I do?

The model of my MacBook pro is 13' from 2011.

Thanks

Hi there!

Most vendors include this message in their listings. Worth the try.
Use a magnifying glass to check if the end of the ribbon cable is not bended
in the sides. Also double check that it's fully inserted. Third-party keyboards
use a thicker ribbon cable that can need more insertion force in the connector.
Be careful! The connector is very fragile!

Had this many years ago with my 2012. After checking it out I discovered I had put a tiny scratch on the new ribbon cable and wrecked the keyboard during install... whoops! Could always be the ribbon connector though!

Hey guys,

Today I bought a new one, installed it and now none of the keys work and now the power button does not work correctly either. Everything else works perfectly. This is the second time I have replaced the keyboard.

What can I do?

Thanks
