macbook pro 2011

hey! i hope i'm posting at the right place, i'm just trying to find advice.

i just bought a macbook pro, i have it since 7 days and i would like to know, before my 14 days to return it end, if it is normal for it to make noise?

i'm no computer pro, but the fans make a constant noise even when i'm only browsing the web. my temps are normal, they stay around 50c and the fans 2000rpm. And i know it is normal for the fans to make noise but if i compare it to the computer i had before, who made noise only when i downloaded something, it makes way lot more noise.

and, another thing, netflix works 1 on 5 times when i try to load the page. is it my web browser or is it something else?

FYI - You posted in the Mac Pro Forum - which is the desktop. You want MacBook Pro Forum

Download iStat Pro its a widget - it will tell you your fan speed and report back to us. It may need to be checked out. Did you order online? Locally? Close drive back to store?

i already have istat and it tells me my CPU temp is at 35 celsius right now and my fans are at 2003 rpm and 2001 rpm.
I think it is normal?
i just want to know if normally, the fans make a constant noise? or is it just supposed to do that when doing something that is demanding?

Temp Normal - Fan Speed Normal - Which size MBP? Hear the fans when it is silent in room? when your face is near MBP? when there is other noise you still hear it?

it's a 15inch one. And, i hear it in a silent room, yes, but i don't put my ear right next to it. And i don't hear it if i'm listening to music for example or when the tv is on.

Anyways, i love the MBP so far, it's all i expect and more, except for that tiny detail i'm maybe focusing on too much. But if you tell me it is totally normal, i won't bother to return it and buy a new one, cause everything is installed on it and all my data is in.

Sounds normal. I have the early 15 also, it makes a little noise (in my estimation). I think what you are explaining is normal. Its just hard to tell how loud it is without hearing it. You do have the 1 year warranty provided with the machine.

Are you sure it isn't the Hard Drive you are hearing? Did you get a 7200RPM drive or some 5400RPM models as well? They have a whirr sound that is not the normal seek crunch you hear. It is constant. I only really noticed after upgrading to SSD. Super quiet. Fans always idle at 2000RPM and peak at 6000RPM, fyi.
