I got my previous notebooks together for a comparsion. I really like the speed and quietness of the new M2 Macbook Pro, but it's thickness was definitely jarring at first - after years and years of thinner notebooks. I would definitely still take the M2 MBP any day, but aesthetically I definitely like the touchbar 2016 MBP the besthttps://imgur.com/a/3LcpPrq/

The thickness was a bit jarring at first but I’d say the newest ones are my favorites. Once you start using it the thickness doesn’t really matter much, but the experience of it not being super hot and noisy is amazing and what I notice the most.

I personally think the old chiclet style keyboards were more beautiful than the current version.

You do get a bigger display for the size increase, the problem is in my opinion more the weight, especially the 2016 and 2017 models were much lighter than the 14" and the difference is noticeable when carrying it around daily (on your back). But then we did ask Apple to stop making devices thinner and thinner, right? We asked for function over form and Apple delivered. Can't complain there.
