I recently purchased a mid 2012 13 inch macbook pro (unibody). The computer is in good condition and all works well. I'm its second owner.
One problem though...

The battery had 95 cycles only, which is great. But by using an app called "battery health", I found out that the battery was manufactured back in May 2016, and that it currently could only hold 61% (approx. 3200mah out of 5200mah) of its original charge capacity, and the computer was shutting down at 7% instead of 0%. I checked the battery info in Mac OS's system report and it matches, so battery health app readings are correct.

I decided to calibrate it by fully discharging the battery and charging to 100% while the machine is off.
It worked for a while, I managed to increase the battery capacity to 85% (approx. 4300mah), but suddenly it dropped down to 50% (2600mah). After some use it slightly increased to 51%.

Why is this happening? Is it because the computer was left unused for too long?
And is it fixable? Or do I need to replace this battery for a new one?

Thanks in advance! Any help is appreciated :)
