I have been given a Macbook Pro A1425 (Late 2012) model, that has a few issues with the keyboard and trackpad and I'm looking for some advice before I start buying parts I don't need.
To start, the keyboard works but its rather unresponsive, basically sometimes I can get some good keystrokes in, then I'll need to hit the same key numerous times before it registers. As for the trackpad, it don't move the cursor whatsoever but the click function does register occasionally, just not all the time.
I've already cracked this bad boy open, cleaned it up some and noticed the trackpad and keyboard are separate from each other, now I'm wondering what the issue here is, is it both the trackpad and the keyboard? or is it possible its just the trackpad that is causing conflicts with the keyboard, or vice-versa?
I hope its not something even more major, like the logic board, even though everything about this Macbook works fine with external peripherals.
So I'm wondering if there is anyone here with some expert knowledge on this model of Macbook and if you have any clues to what the exact issue is, any advice would be great.
Edit: Found out its the Macbook Pro (Late 2012) model not 2013.
