after owning my top end mbp tb the keyboard stopped working. AppleCare was useless. said I need to return it but since I am out of the us on work I must return it to someone there and have them deal with it. shipping from here is very expensive and difficult I can use the pointer and the screen keyboard but that is a pain. it works for 10 mins after a shutdown then stops. will try an external one when I find one. this is the second major problem with this machine. for 4k I expect better. I've tried smc and pram resets but no change. any ideas. the screen keyboard won't let me type email addresses the most unhelpful AppleCare rep was familiar with the issue, so expect more of this issue any ideas for a fix. thanks

That's a bummer, especially since you're so far away from Apple. If it's a hardware issue as Apple says, it's hard to see what you could do to fix it. Even taking it apart requires special tools. Just about any USB keyboard plus a USB-C/USB-A adapter ought to work. Don't know how easy it is to find those adapters there. Good luck!
