Hi friends, I have MacBook Pro 13 inch 2017 purchased on Oct 2018. It has installed latest macOS 13.5. Just a few days before, its screen started to display some horizontal pink, light blue and sometimes green colour lines and vertical bands with same type colours. Its screen is not hit by something. I have tried all possible ways to fix it as concerned if there is any software problem, but not worked. Initially in light mode, it is working anyway. Now its screen becomes sometimes dark/blank, sometimes white or colourful bands. When fold it little more than half way then display screen with little coloured lines. Anyway I have updated lastest macOS 13.5 yesterday. It is not fixed the issue. Anyone suggests me what is real problem and how fix it?

It does not look like a software issue to me. I believe the screen or some the internal components are defective.
Maybe display connector issue. In repair shop, they are always ready to the replacement of screen without proper diagnostic about issues. Apple diagnostics by Press power key then D key, show - No issues found. Reference code : ADP000. Any suggestion?

The onboard diagnostics don't always find issues.

Take it to an Apple store and have them run their diagnostics. It's free and they may be able to tell you more.

I visited to Apple store. Diagnostics technician reported that there is problem in display and need to replace. I asked for replacement of display cable but he said that it is not come separately. The display cable comes inbuilt with display warranty with 90 days. It costs total more than 52 thousand in Indian rupees. Almost half price of my MacBook. What will I do? Is it sensible to spend that much money for four years old MacBook Pro? Is there any alternative solutions? Friends, please give your valuable suggest. Thanks.

I would not spend that much repairing an Intel mac, for sure, the generational jump is too big currently to justify it if can't get them to replace it under goodwill for display cable issues.

I don't recommend changing the display. Sell for parts or use it as a desktop if you have a use for it.

It's a known issue called flexgate. Not worth repairing given the high cost and age of the computer. Time for Apple Silicon.

The most affordable repair is cutting the cable in half and soldering a good cable to it. This requires good microsoldering skills and will probably cost US$200.
