Hi there,

My "13-inch, 2018, Four Thunderbolt 3 Ports" computer bought 2018 and already repaired in August 2020 for a key issue has a key problem again ... if I am correct in 2020 they replaced the keyboard by a similar Butterfly keyboard ... so issue appears again now.

My question is .... is my computer still eligible for the recall program, after 5 years ?
And specially if it was already repaired in 2020 ?

Many Thanks !

"The program covers eligible MacBook, MacBook Air, and MacBook Pro models for 4 years after the first retail sale of the unit."

Sadly you are now out of warranty. If you pay to repair it, it will also be the same keyboard. I'd look into options into replacing it to a newer model with the "magic keyboard". As the issue is random, you'd have no idea if the paid replacement would fail in years or a month.

Nope.

The extended warranty period is over for a 2018.
That means if you want it repaired, YOU pay.

I'm sure you already realize the repair charge isn't cheap -- probably 750-800.

As acorntoy says above...
... it's time to start shopping for a replacement.
