I am looking for information on available laptop bags and sleeves for the new 2021 14" and 16" M1 Pro/Max MacBook Pros.

There is a sticky thread that covers wraps, plastic snap caps, stickers, as well as light sleeves. Im looking for some suggestions for products that provide at least a minimal amount of protection, like a sleeve that can be taken to a coffee shop or slid into a backpack, or a laptop bag that can hold a HD, mouse, and dongle, and maybe have a shoulder strap. I'm not looking for products to add flair... ;)

For me, the minimum requirements for a laptop bag include:

- Cushioned for some level protection

- Zippers around all edges to keep liquid spills off the laptop sides.
ex: When waiting to board a plane, and the person sitting next to me spills a soda into my backpack.

- Handle for pulling a 16" MBP out of my backpack when the backpack is on the floor
See the 2'nd picture down

With a staggered zipper arrangement, this one is hard to beat. $18 is an amazing price for the functionality.
I ordered 1 in blue and 1 in red for my work MBP and play MBP.

PS: While looking at my order history I noticed this one that I've been very happy with for a Thinkpad X1 Extreme

I have a laptop case I bought a few years ago from ACME that I love. It's protective and low profile and is very well made. I don't think they are in the laptop bag business anymore so I can't just buy another.

I wish Apple made leather sleeves for the new Pro models; similar to the Air models. I would buy them in a heartbeat.

I have an Eberlestock Undercover Brief, which works wonderfully for my 14" Pro. It has a surprising amount of room, and it is comfortable to carry with the padded strap. It's my go to and has never given me any issue.

To make it clear, I have no affiliation or relationship with this company. I received this briefcase as a Christmas gift from a friend, and I really like it.

Looks like a great design with quality features everywhere.
Ex: Their zipper pulls are my fave zipper pull design. If your hand is ever in a cast you'll appreciate them even more.
Ex: Very thoughtful looking pouch fasteners. How well do those work in practice?

I'd get that in a heartbeat if I had a 14" that I carried around every day.
(I seem to be happier with my 16" in a backpack)

I'd be very wary of the ProCase.
It looks very much like the one my MacBook Pro was in when it slipped from my overloaded hands (from a height of only a metre or so) dinging the corner and doing damage that Apple estimated at GBP850 to fix.
It offered almost no protection.
I've been living with the ding ever since, but I'll never put anything that expensive in something that cheap ever again.
Don't skimp IMHO.

I have received my Harber London Slim sleeve for my Mac, still waiting on my Mac....

But, have been using one since 2015 on my 2015 MBP, and it is still looking and feeling great.
