Hello, I just bought a second hand mb a1708 from 2017 to upgrade from the mb 2009 I was usiing so I just fiind out about the butterfly keyboard issue. I already change the thermal paste and downgraded fromm ventura to mojave bbecause it was overheating during the chilean summer. Now I amm thinkig about swapping the keyboard to skip these issues you can see but I ddo not know where should I buy the keyboard to be sure the new one is not faulty, I've seen on ebay and aliexpress.

Is there a safe place to buy just to be sure I don't end up iin the same place.

There are no keyboards for these which are not faulty. Apple never came up with a fixed design for the 2016-2019 computers that have the butterfly keyboard so they're all prone to (expensive) failure. If the one you have works right now all you can do is use it until it stops working.

So if I swap it with a new one I could end up with an even worse one?

You cannot "swap the keyboard" on a butterfly-keyboard MacBook.

You must replace THE ENTIRE TOP CASE of the computer - even if it's only for 1 key.

That's going to cost you about $750 (US) -- IF you can find anyone to do it.

Not worth it at this point.

You've made a bad purchase -- there's no way around this.

Can you return it?

I could sell it but what's the point, I don't have enough money to buy a 2020 for now. I'll use it like this
