MacBook Pro Accessories?

Hey, I'm going to order a MBP 15" as soon as they update them, and I've been wondering what else I need to buy for it. I already have MS Office, a monitor (Dell 2005FPW), an external keyboard and mouse (Kensington SlimType Keyboard for mac and a Logitech MX1000 Laser mouse), an external hard drive (LaCie d2 HD Extreme Triple Interface 160GB), a laptop lock (Kensington), iPod with video + dock, and a printer (Canon IP4000).

I know I will need to buy a new backpack/sleeve for it. Is there anything else I need to buy for a new mac? (I ask because I have this feeling like there is something I forgot that I need to buy)

I will be using the new MBP for programming (I use Xcode/Eclipse/SubEthaEdit and Terminal for that), web design (waiting for Photoshop CS3 and I use Taco HTML Edit/SubEthaEdit/GraphicConverter and Transmit for FTP), and some other college work (MS Office/iWork and OmniOutliner Pro + kGTD), as well as some gaming (got plenty of games, most are Universal now). If its a free/shareware app, there is good chance that I know it and/or use it.

I appreciate the help.
 
just make sure that your case is extremely protective. These machines are dentable!

Other than that:
1. external mouse
2. if using as a desktop (like me), external keyboard


I also have a notebook cooler, but that may be overkill

I know about that first hand unfortunately. I'm willing to spend up to 250 bucks on a good backpack or sleeve. I'm thinking that Axio Hardsleeve, and then getting a cheap regular backpack to throw it in along with my 2 1000-page Computer Science books (I'm a CS Major) and notebooks, etc. After contacting Axio, one of their reps said they were going to have a new MacBook Pro version of the Hardsleeve around August-September timeframe, so I'm hoping to get one of those.

Probably because they'll be updated maybe, like I mentioned up there? Their probably waiting after WWDC to see what happens then release the new Hardsleeve.
 
I just called Axio and they said the design will be the same, but they are "improving" the design.

They will release the new one around Sept or hopefully late August, I want one of those too!

You'll also need to get a USB hub. The MBP 15" only has 2 USBs, and you have five USB things to connect there. I have a very similar setup to you, except I don't use the external keyboard and mouse. I'd recommend connecting the Printer, USB keyboard, Mouse and iPod to the hub, and connect the hard disk to the spare USB. I'm not too worried about the speed of the connection with my iPod, it's plenty fast enough. The external hard disk needs to be fast however. All the other things you have (printer, USB mouse & Keyboard) don't need that much data transfer speed, so they should be fine connected to the hub. Make sure you get a powered hub, otherwise the keyboard, mouse and iPod won't get any power...

I use a Belkin 4-way one....
 
Get an iCurve

Extras: Sound system or iPod HiFi or Pro headphones aka Denon DJs. Eye TV to watch HDTV in america or DVB in other places.

I'm fairly sure his montor is a 4-way USB hub. I know the 2007WFP is.

Does iCurve grip well? If I decide to get one of those, I want to make sure my new MBP won't slip off.

iCurve seems to grip fine as long as it isn't dusty. I shouldn't think it would fall off in any case.

On the sleave front my Tucano second skin is really good. It matches the laptop well (in silver) and protects it when you slip it into a shoulder bag or whatever you want to use. Great for keeping scratches of it. I just love the material, very soft to touch :)
