Rite my brand new macbook pro arrived yesterday, its amazing.

Got everything over no problem, this is my first mac, everything was fine.

Untill i tried to get my i tunes library over, I have all my music on a external hard disk, but when attached it says that the folder is locked.

And when i import the folder in i tunes, it copys everything across to my Hard disk, which i dont want, I just want to run the library straight from the external hard disk, is this possible? and if so how?

It worked fine on my windows, but i have mac now, i dont want to use windows ever again!

and for anyone who is interested i upgraded straight away to leopard, using erase and install, thought it was a good idea to start a fresh as i had no data on it!

not on my mac right now, but if you click itunes menu and go into preferences, on the importing theres a checkbox that says something like "copy files added to my library to my itunes directory"

Uncheck that, and you're good to go.
