macBook Pro as an Apple TV remote

If we can interface with the Apple TV through $200 iPhone why not a $2000 macBook Pro? Do you think Apple will make this available anytime soon? I would love to be able to use my keyboard with youtube on the Apple TV.

I doubt it since they could have done it by now, and I kinda feel like the iPhone is more friendly as a remote control than a full-size laptop is!
