MacBook Pro Auto Restart After 2 Minutes

Hello!

My MacBook Pro automatically restarts after only a minute or two of being turned on.
It's a Macbook Pro 16,3 i5, 1.4 GHz 4 core machine w/ 8 GB RAM.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Yes, it keeps doing it endlessly

I've gone through the motions reset SMC, PRAM etc. Safe boot, extensions off. Tried booting from an external thumb drive . . . nothing seems to work.

Yes, it will but it doesn't stay powered up long enough to get very far. I've also tried reinstalling the OS but, same problem.

Then you might have a hardware problem. Try running hardware diagnostics.

Thanks chabig,

I did as you recommended and the report came back as "No issues found". I then sent a report to Apple as instructed. I'm surprised that the computer stayed on as long as it did in order to complete these tasks but then it eventually began behaving the same way.

Turned out that the touch bar needed to be replaced. All good now! Thanks for you help!
