Hi

I will be looking to back up projects and install a sample library on a seperate drive to run in Logic, therefore could anyone recommend a industry standard external SSD, preferably 500Gb or 1Tb

MacBook Pro,

Thanks.

Is it a USB-C MacBook Pro?

For working with larger audio or video files, I would recommend this:

Unlike most of the other SSDs on the market, it doesn't take major hits from thermal throttling or cache depletion when being subjected to continuous strenuous use or moving large files.

The next step up from that would be a Thunderbolt 3 SSD, which gets much more expensive due to the high cost of enclosures.

Samsung's T7 is a very quick, excellent external drive which comes in 1TB and 2 TB sizes. I think it also comes in 500 GB as well, as does its predecessor the T5. Both come with cables with USB-C to USB-C connections and USB-C to USB-A connections so the consumer can use the device on whichever type of ports their machine has.
