Hi all

I have Macbook Pro 2017 and sometimes the battery not charging. I known battery need to replace.

When I play YouTube and battery suddenly not charging it would going to sleep and it can't wake up till I turn on and off the charger. It would only wake up after it begin to charging.

What happend if one day the battery can't charging at all ?

Could MacBook Pro still turn on using power from charger ?

Thank

“It depends” on what the actual failure is. It is possible that the Mac might not power on from just the charger, if the battery dies completely.

Did you mean if the battery died the Mac would not turn on by charger ?

I mean it might not. It depends on the failure mode of the battery. Only way to tell is wait and see.

Could you try Coconut Battery (free), to see what kind of report it gives?

If the battery's capacity has dropped below 80% of "factory original", it may qualify for the $199 battery replacement by Apple...

I had 2017 MBP (died recently) and ~2 years ago I had similar charging issues, similar as you describe them.
In my case the battery was fine, but eventually, after some few more days/weeks with similar charging/starting issues, the charging chip in the MBP died and I could not charge it at all. Make sure you do have RELIABLE backup now, while you can still charge it and do proper backup. If the charging chip dies and you run out of battery power, you do not get to your data - Apple/service must replace motherboard and since SSD is soldered to the motherboard, well, data are gone with the original motherboard.
I hope it is only battery in your case, board replacement is expensive.
