I'm new to macbooks and i have a question 2 questions about batteries

1.) So when i take the macbook out of the box, i fully charge it and then do i callibrate it (as in fully discharge it) or should i wait after a month?

2.) To extend battery life (as in using 2-3 cycles per week), should i use my laptop running the battery and charge it when it is low like 30-50% or is it better to use it till it gets to 70% and then charge it?

Thanks for your help, much appreciated!

I know I'm not much help, b/c I've had my MBP since Feb '09 and it's 8 months old and I try to plug in everywhere I go, so that said, I have a total of (5) cycles and have let it run down to nothing on (2) occasions to do the calibration. Keep a close eye on your battery with Coconut Battery....:eek::eek:

The calibration does not extend battery life, it only makes the estimated time/percentage more accurate

also, leaving your machine plugged in all the time is a bad idea. Use the battery a few times a week.
