Hi folks,
I'm opening this thread here although there's another one about the same issue in the Mac Pro section, here:

https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/249097/

Brief summary: my MBP emits a beep sound, not very loud but very annoying, randomly every few seconds/minutes. Turning the iSight camera on and off (for example opening and closing photo booth) "fixes" the problem until the next reboot.

Has anybody had the same issue? Was the issue solved?
Is this a software or hardware problem? At first it seemed to me a sw problem, but surfing the net I came across people wit the same issue who got their machine replaced, and that made me think that Apple considers it a hw problem (or they don't know what it is ).

I was thinking about waiting before asking for Apple assistance, mainly for two reasons:
- the problem maybe sw related, so an update might fix it (and the isight trick works all times)
- I can't understand if the other known issues were solved. Apart from the beep (and the slightly bended top panel) my MPB is great. I don't won't to get it replaced just to find that one issue was replaced by new ones.

Any suggestions?

yes my first Core Duo Macbookpro started beeping while i was on the phone with applecare. They told me it's due to a mixture of things that aren't right with the computer. They setup a time and date for me to go to my local applestore to exchange my unit!! And to my surprise they upgraded me from a core duo to a Core 2 Duo 2.33 120 gig harddrive!! CALL APPLECARE

Thanks a million lad!
Actually I was thinking about waiting for Leopard to be released (and maybe SantaRosa, who knows?), maybe I can get an upgrade too... :p
The machine is brand new and I have 3yrs AppleCare so I think I can wait..

Just another quick question: I ordered from the online store, can I ask at a local applestore for assistance/replacement? (this is my first mac, I don't know how it usually works)

thanks in advance

You'd have to contact applecare. I bought mine orginally at the apple store but I'm sure you could take your recipets into the apple store and talk to them. But if I were you i'd call applecare first!!
