Hi All!

I have the mid 2012 A1398 Macbook Pro Retina model.

the HDMI port has gotten bent towards the outside by accident.

I’m planning to fix it by using pliers and bending the other way. Any tips and past experiences with this?

Thanks in advance!

I've never tried to fix bends with pliers, but as long as the port still functions you should be fine to bend it back down. Just be careful of where you grab and be gentle, don't want to do more damage.

You can do that. Just make sure you cover any parts of the aluminum that the pliers will touch with something to protect it, since it's pretty soft. I would probably not squeeze the bottom of the port at all, since it looks fine and that could potentially cause more damage.
